The Harbor Club was at Meals of Marin on Wednesday, August 9th. Working with Chef Arturo and his assistant Virginia, the kitchen crew of Helen, Donna, Judy, Carol, John, and yours truly prepared and packaged meals for 100 people.
On the menu was beef and tomato stew served over polenta. It smelled wonderful. We also prepared desserts, and when that was done, we chopped, sliced and diced vegetables for the next day's meals. In the afternoon, the delivery crew of Stacie, Cecilia, Greg, Tom, and Steve brought all 100 dinners to people in the area facing life threatening illness. I understand that the delivery lists were rather daunting, but at last check, there were no Harborites unaccounted for so it would appear that everyone made it home. It was an awesome day for an awesome cause, and though Donna had to separate us a few times, neither John nor I attacked each other with a knife...editor's note: Clearly the attached photo proves otherwise (M. Koehne)! See some more photos of a less violent nature in the photo journals.
