Meeting Notes Jan 21, 2014

GREETER:  Kris Edwards.  Kris is an accountant that worked with her Dad, a long time Rotarian, who recently passed away.  Instead of the thought she wanted to speak about the fact that she got into Rotary because her Dad loved the service and social parts of Rotary.  They used to flip through quote books together for the thought of the day and instead of picking her thought, she wanted to remember him.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

1943:  Rotary adopted the 4-Way test which was originally written in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor as he struggled to save his company from bankruptcy

1976:  Concored began service

1793:  Luis the 16th lost his head!

 

GOOD NEWS:

SUSAN is leaving for Kona tomorrow

SUSAN also went to Barbara for her joints before getting on a plane and she feels like a new woman!

KARL:  He ran into former club member ART and he is now driving a bus for Novato Unified.

BARBARA:  It is her son's 34th birthday and he will also be a father soon.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.  Mission SR crab feed on Feb 6th.  Cost is $40.  Let's help support their club.

2.  Karl mentioned that the fundraiser will be starting in a few weeks.  Please contact him if you can help get certificates.

3.  Feb 14:  No one eats alone.

 

BELL RINGER:  Jeff honored But Marchant Chapman that was a Rotarian for 60 years.

 

PAUL HARRIS:  John and Aref presented Jeff with the Paul Harris plus 5 pin.  Congratulations Jeff!

 

SPEAKERS:  Selmeier and Wren Marketing consultants.  They spoke with us about the good, bad and ugly about marketing and sales.  They mentioned that as business owners we really need to focus on our target audience and what we want to say to them.  We need to be clear in our messaging.

WEBSITES are most important with good VIDEO as a part of that website.  The video should state who you are, what you do, and why someone should come to you.  Make it something that will interest your potential clients.
