Ways to give to our Foundation (other than Happy News/fines)

We rang the bell THREE TIMES yesterday! $300 plus regular other fines!!! I am so totally and profoundly proud of us! Not only does that mean we had a lot of HAPPY NEWS fines, it also means we made money for our own Harbor Foundation (unspecified funds) and for Paul Harris (Jeff's bell-ringer). BUT...did you know there are two other easy ways to give? Amazon and Ebay...both have approved us as a donation-designated charity.
PAINLESS giving…
Did you know that the San Rafael Harbor Rotary Foundation is an approved Amazon charity? All you have to do is go to SMILE.AMAZON.com and you will see the following message:
- Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.
- AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service.
- Support your charitable organization by starting your shopping at smile.amazon.com.
I sent in proof of our 501c(3) status and…there you go!!! Not a lot…but every bit helps us and this is, indeed, painless.
EASY giving…
Did you now that the San Rafael Harbor Rotary Foundation is an approved EBay charity (PayPal Giving Fund)? Our username is Harbor Rotary. You can either list items as “owned by and sold by” Harbor itself so we get 100% of the money directly, or you can list them with your own account and give any percentage from 10% to 100% to Harbor. The difference is that Harbor’s listings are free of all fees. Anyone want to give me something to list with Harbor as the owner, and I'll be happy to oblige. Of course, your own listings get the write-off and I haven't talked with the Foundation Board about what to do if someone gives us something we sell, but we will work it out. Our user-name is Harbor Rotary. So far, only Tom, some anonymous person, and I have listed anything that counted. (I tried when I sold a lot of vintage hats in 2012, but I think some other Rotary club may have gotten that money). Here is what we have so far (you recognize Tom…I’m RVIA):
