Our own Barbara Weldon has been named District Rotarian of the Month! No small feat in District 5150, home to 41 clubs and 1440 members!
A dedicated Rotarian since April 3, 2012, Barbara exemplifies Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self through her outstanding leadership, generosity, and unwavering
commitment to serving others.
Barbara’s contributions to Rotary have been extensive. She served as President of the Rotary Club of San Rafael Harbor during the 2018–2019 Rotary year and has continued
to serve in numerous leadership roles, including Membership Chair and, currently, Rotary Foundation Chair.
In her role as Foundation Chair, Barbara is a passionate advocate for The Rotary Foundation. She continually encourages members to participate in Foundation giving,
including Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY), and promotes the importance of supporting Rotary's local and international humanitarian efforts. She also keeps club members
connected and informed by preparing and distributing the club's monthly newsletter and calendar.
Her commitment extends well beyond her own club. Barbara actively supports district fundraisers, attends events hosted by neighboring Rotary clubs, and has participated in
several Rotary International Conventions. She especially enjoyed representing her club at the 2025 Rotary International Convention in Calgary, Canada, where she celebrated
the fellowship and global impact of Rotary.
Barbara's spirit of service is equally evident throughout the Marin community. Through Marin Villages, she volunteers her time helping seniors with transportation to medical
appointments, shopping, and other essential needs, supporting their independence and quality of life. She also enthusiastically supports Enriching Lives Through Music
(ELM), attending its programs, sponsoring a student, and even providing transportation to after-school music lessons.
Barbara's professional life has also been dedicated to caring for others. After more than 20 years as a respiratory therapist with Kaiser Permanente, she continued her
healthcare service following retirement by working at Marin Community Clinic, where she assists a chiropractor in providing care and support to patients.
Whether serving her Rotary club, supporting district initiatives, helping seniors, encouraging young musicians, or caring for patients, Barbara consistently
demonstrates what it means to make a difference in the lives of others.
